One-Year

Workmanship

Quality is important, especially in a new home. Our Workmanship Warranty sets the standards for fit, finish, and materials used in the construction of a new home. Fit refers to how well the parts of the finished product come together and finish refers to the completeness of the work. This warranty covers items such as cabinets, roof covering, countertops, door panels, exterior siding, hardwood floors, ceramic tile, drywall, interior trim, carpet, and paint during the first year.

Distribution Systems

You will rarely see behind the walls of your new home, but essential functions such as electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems are working behind the walls. Your distribution systems warranty establishes the standards for your home's electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. The wiring, piping, and ductwork of your new home are addressed under this warranty.

Structural

While your home was carefully constructed and inspected, occasionally unforeseen problems arise, even in the best-built homes. Our industry-leading 15-year Structural Warranty addresses the designated load-bearing elements of the home such as roof framing systems, load-bearing walls and partitions, beams, columns, footings and foundation systems, floor framing, girders, lintels, and masonry arches. This warranty also addresses structural defects such as those caused by soil movement. A structural defect is actual physical damage to designated load-bearing elements that affect their function in such a way that the home becomes unsafe, unsanitary, or otherwise unlivable.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

What warranty comes with a SeaGate home?

Every SeaGate home includes an industry-leading 15-year Structural Warranty, providing long-term protection for its structural components. In addition to structural coverage, our homes are backed by clearly defined workmanship and systems warranties, with specific terms outlined in our warranty documentation. This coverage is designed to give homeowners confidence and peace of mind, both at move-in and for years to come.

What does the structural warranty cover?

Our industry-leading 15-year Structural Warranty covers designated load-bearing elements of the home, including roof framing systems, load-bearing walls and partitions, beams, columns, footings, foundation systems, floor framing, girders, lintels, and masonry arches. The warranty also covers qualifying structural defects, including those caused by soil movement, when physical damage impacts the home’s structural function and makes it unsafe, unsanitary, or unlivable, as defined in our official warranty documentation.

How long is the workmanship warranty?

Our Workmanship Warranty covers your home for one year from the date of closing and addresses defects in workmanship and materials as outlined in our warranty documentation. This coverage is designed to ensure that construction-quality items meet our standards, and any covered concerns reported during the warranty period will be reviewed and addressed in accordance with the terms of the SeaGate Homes warranty.

How do I submit a warranty request?

Warranty requests are submitted through our online warranty request system, which can be found here: https://www.seagatehomes.com/warranty-request

What is covered after I move in?

After you move in, your home is covered by multiple warranty protections that address different aspects of construction and performance. This includes a one-year workmanship warranty for covered defects in materials and workmanship, systems coverage as outlined in your warranty documentation, and our industry-leading 15-year structural warranty for designated load-bearing elements of the home. Coverage details, timelines, and procedures are clearly defined in the SeaGate Homes warranty information provided at closing.

Is there a customer care team?

Yes, we have a dedicated warranty and customer care team that supports homeowners after move-in by handling warranty-related questions and requests. This team is responsible for reviewing submitted warranty items, coordinating next steps when service is required, and ensuring concerns are addressed in accordance with the terms and timelines outlined in our warranty documentation.

How quickly are warranty issues addressed?

Warranty requests are reviewed promptly after they are submitted through our warranty request system, and response times vary depending on the type of issue and warranty coverage involved. Once reviewed, items are scheduled and addressed according to priority, trade availability, and the terms outlined in our warranty documentation, ensuring concerns are handled in an organized and transparent manner.

Are appliances covered under warranty?

Appliances included in your home are typically covered by the manufacturer’s warranty rather than the SeaGate Homes Workmanship or Structural Warranty. Warranty details, coverage periods, and service procedures for appliances are provided by the manufacturer at closing, and homeowners work directly with the appliance manufacturer for service or repairs under those warranties.

What is not covered by the warranty?

Our warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, routine maintenance items, or issues resulting from homeowner neglect, misuse, or improper upkeep. Cosmetic items, such as minor cracks due to normal settling, changes caused by environmental conditions, and items covered by manufacturer warranties rather than builder warranties, may also be excluded. Full exclusions and definitions are clearly outlined in our official warranty documentation, which we encourage homeowners to review for complete details.

Can warranties be transferred if I sell my home?
Yes, certain warranty coverage may be transferable if you sell your home, including the structural warranty, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the warranty documentation. Transfer eligibility, timeframes, and any required steps are defined in the official SeaGate Homes warranty information provided at closing, and homeowners are encouraged to review those details or contact our warranty team for guidance when a transfer is needed.
